It's like eating at someone's house, someone who's extremely good at cooking delicious food!
This place is great. The food is authentic and really tasty. It's also very friendly. Not fancy, but very comfortable and incredibly good value for the quality of the food. If you like Korean food and you're in Syracuse you should go here.
Great food, laid-back atmosphere, friendly service. Excellent experience overall.
Super authentic Korean food. Best samgyupsal I've had outside of Korea. Would highly recommend.
It's doesn't look like much from the outside but the quality of the food makes up for it! The food is fantastic and authentic and it was cooked and ready in 10 minutes. Will definitely go again.
Amazing homestyle Korean food. Delicious and inexpensive. Friendly service.
It has amazing korean food. It tastes very authentic. I am chinese and I must eat here at least once when I visit. There is a no fuss approach here which I like very much.
My favorite Korean restaurant in Syracuse. Their food is worth the price. Place is very homey. Wonderful service.
Amazing food! Really quick and good service
Restaurant is in serious need of cleaning and repair. The appearance from the street is dingy and unkept. Upon entering we were very underwhelmed, walls and floors are dirty, sloppy paint job and tacky dacor. We were seated at a table with FOLDING chairs and plastic table cloths, very uncomfortable. The bathroom was disgusting and I wanted to leave but the food had already been ordered. Our food came to the table and portions were much smaller than anticipated for the price. Food quality was average to low. Staff was friendly and attentive but it was not enough to make up for all of the downside. We DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Amazing food. Amazing service. Can't wait to go back!!
One of the best restaurants in all of Syracuse. Magnificent! Edit: I wrote the above almost a year ago. I would like to add more. My opinion of Chorong House hasn't changed. My friend and I always get the bulgogi (pork and beef) and it was something of a ritual for us. It's excellent Korean food cooked for you in a homely atmosphere. I am glad I was a regular at the restaurant while I lived in Syracuse. I don't often have fond memories of restaurants but I do of Chorong house.
This food is amazing! We felt as if this was our grandmas house and she served us a delicious Korean meal. Hands down best Korean food. The place is small they have one section with 4 tables and it looked like they had extra seating in a seperate part of the house for larger groups. It is a blue house so look out for it. When you enter go to your left. We got appetizer 4 which is like their version of a maki roll with meat! and shared M4 which is short ribs. They also start your meal with Korean pickles which are delicious! The soybeans are off the chain. And if you ask they will give you more pickles. New favorite spot in bland Syracuse! Finally some culture and flavor!
Delicious and authentic Korean cuisine.
Wonderfully, authentic Korean food.
Absolutely my favorite place in Syracuse. Right out of their kitchen , this family cooks the best Asian food ever
The food here was amazing. My wife and I tried it for the first time tonight. We split a Man-Doo appetizer, Dol-Soht-Bimibob and Kimchi Jeh-Hook. Everything was delicious. I definitely think this will become a regular part of our take out rotation.
Great Korean restaurant! Friendly people! Love coming here.
My favorite Korean food place. This is as close to legitimate Korean cuisine as you can get in Syracuse. Most dishes are great. My personal favorites are Ja Jang Myeon, Kalbi Tang, Soon Tofu, Cham Bong and Seafood pancakes. They call the pancakes an appetizer, but it's certainly a meal on its own!For meat lovers, their grilled meat on skillets with rice are really good as well 👌The atmosphere is definitely very homey. It definitely has more of an intimate feel as if you are visiting the owners' house for a meal.
Great home cooked Korean, a amazing little hole in the wall place that looks like nothing special but won't regret the visit best food.
Great service and food 🙂
Very Cozy, ordered the Bibimbob(p) and it was amazing! Very fond of Korean food and this place hit the spot. Not overly expensive but not cheap either. Portions are decent and this is the only place (that I have been to) that has Kimbop!
This place may not have the refined/produced look of chain restaurants or bigger places, but the food is fantastic! The flavors and ingredients are very authentic, and it is like nothing else around. Last time I went, I got the Kal Bi, which are sliced beef short ribs in a Korean barbeque marinade. As I ate it, I didn't want to stop to breathe, all I wanted was to take another bite of the delicious meal. I am so glad that I found this restaurant and I can't wait to try something else on the menu!
Excellent food, wonderful staff and cozy atmosphere! My new favorite place for Korean food!
Great Food!
This place is a great little family run restaurant. I'll definitely be back. The food was delicious and the service was really friendly!
one of my best in Syracuse. Friendly host, nice foods, yummy receipts and home-feel environment. Highly recommend
The best Korean food in Syracuse. Everything is of the highest quality and tastes incredible. Very welcoming staff makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend the beef bulgogi!
It's so good and authentic!
Very home-like atmosphere for a small restaurant, food is done fresh and the entrees are excellent! A little pricey but the meal was definitely worth it!
Good portion size. Home cooking vibe. And I like how thick their pancake is!
It is very authentic, delicious Korean eatery. It is set up in a small house. The house has not been altered to give you a feel of restaurant, rather it is feel of home. You are sitting in the living room, while a couple of feet away your food is being prepared in the kitchen. Tip is mandatory and is included in the bill. I never felt bad about it, as my experience has always been good. If you are for ambiance, this is not the place for you. It is more like down to earth home style.
Great food in a neighbouring lacking of dining options
They charge you 15% gratuity for eating there. I am a college student so the walk from SU was long but barable. Food was tasty, but my soup portion was rather small. The menu price was fair (12.99) for what i ordered however, with the 15% gratuity MANDITORY PRE CHARGED TIP. I don't like the fact that they force you to give 15% tip. Overall would recommend but beware the portions are rather small.
Great little spot to enjoy spot on flavor of korean food. Definitely recommend to stop here if you want true korean food.
Very authentic, nice staff.
Very authentic Korean cuisine awesomely friendly staff.
The food here was absolutely delicious. If you're looking for regal ambiance this is not the place, but if you want amazing Korean food served to you in a homey kitchen setting... this is the place.
Chorong House is a cozy atmosphere. Small but comfortable dining area. Very clean with a home style feel. The food selections provide an authentic Korean dining experience. The food is amazing and I have found my new Favorite Korean Restaurant! Such a wonderful place!
The best Korean food in the Syracuse. The Establishment is a little unusual because it is a house that has been converted on the first floor into a restaurant. The food is amazing the best Korean I've ever had. The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired but the food makes up for it. It is a little expensive but definitely worth the money.
Delicious, authentic Korean food. Small and comfortable. Pleasant ambiance. Very friendly server. The flavor of the spicy squid was wonderful.
Too much Monosodium glutamate, or MSG, which is a flavor-enhancing food additive used in Asian cooking. It’s unhealthy, but it tastes good.
It's a family style restaurant, so the portions are big and meant to be shared with the group, just like in Asia. So you'd order dishes as a group and share with everyone. The staff is very friendly. We actually met the person the restaurant is named after, Chorong. It was a great time with good, filling food.We were a group of 6 people, and I'd say that's the max they can fit on one table, so if you have a larger group, plan accordingly.
Went to go eat here with my sister. Staff was extremely nice and the food came out very hot and delicious. I would come back if I were to come to Syracuse again. Felt very homestyled and comfortable. Would definitely recommend to anyone that likes Korean food.
Down home Korean home cooking. So good!
Amazing hole-in-the-wall. Home cooked authentic Korean food served up by wonderful people 👌
OMG, the food was amazing and the employees were really nice. I definitely recommend this place to anyone that expects a great customer service and real Korean cuisine!
The best Korean food in Syracuse. The place is small and unpretentious, but the food is some of the best Korean food I've had anywhere. Today I had ojinguh bokeum (spicy stir fried squid with vegetables). Most places overcook the squid, so it closely resembles shoe leather. Here the squid was cooked perfectly, very tender and flavorful. And the spice level was not "dumbed down", even though I am obviously not Korean. I can't wait to try their other offerings.
It had been a couple years since I have been to Chorong House, and back in the day, had nothing but a positive and delicious experience. Recently, I finally had the chance to go. All I wanted was bimbibap, which is what I ordered. Instead, I was served steamed warm rice, in a silver bowl (looked like a mixing bowl, not the typical bowl used to crisp the rice on the bottom), vegetables, a sad egg on top and cold salad shrimp. I give it 2 stars because it wasn't that the dish was terrible.. it was underwhelming and just not what I wanted. I didn't have the time to send it back and order something else, but I can honestly say I won't be going back again.
The food here is excellent. The space is ok, it a bit of a hole in the wall the entrance is on the side of the build. But the actual meals were super delicious very authentic. The Banchan were ok
